Beyonce sued by Abercrombie & Fitch over fierce fragrance name
Are you kidding?!

NY Daily News Reports
Pop diva Beyonce Knowles and teen clothing giant Abercrombie & Fitch are going to war over who is fiercer.
In a federal suit, the Ohio-based chain of popular mall stores sued Knowles, saying they already own the name of her upcoming scent.
The grammy-winning singer announced this week that she had teamed up with fragrance maker Coty, which launched the celebrity scent craze in 2002 when Jennifer Lopez' Glow racked up $100 million in sales in one year.
Knowles' perfume, named after her onstage alter ego, Sasha Fierce, is supposed to launch next spring. Her line of clothing, also called Sasha Fierce, just debuted in department stores.
The superstar singer described her new scent as "an alluring and sophisticated fragrance; one that's refelective of my inner power."
Abercrombie said the whole thing stinks.Within hours of Tuesday's announcement, Abercrombie filed suit in federal court in Columbus, asking a judge to stop Knowles and accusing her of trademark infringement, unfair competition and deceptive trade practices because it already sells a men's cologne called Fierce.
The $40 cologne comes in a bottle featuring the standard Abercrombie and Fitch branding: a ripped male torso. Store employees spritz stacks of clothing with it.
The company said it has sold $190 million worth of Fierce since 2002 and Knowles' perfume plan "poses a likelihood of confusion" for consumers and could cost them sales.
Abercrombie said its attorneys sent Knowles a cease-and-desist letter but she had not backed off.
Knowles, whose 2008 album called "I am ... Sasha Fierce" went platinum, already sells a line of clothing called Dereon that includes earrings and pendants spelling out the word Fierce.

“Game advisor” Tariq Nasheed offers up the five rules every true player should follow.
For many brothers, talking to a woman can be one of the most difficult experiences in their life. That is where Tariq Nasheed steps in. Nasheed is a dating coach and game advisor with the ability to school brothers worldwide in the strategy of being a player. He has penned several books, including The Art Of Mackin, which gives key rules that men should follow when dealing with the opposite sex. Tariq also has a series of radio podcasts called The Mack Lessons Radio Show, which covers topics like dating, relationships and social issues. For the guys who are shooting duds on the dating field, grab a pen and pad—the Game Advisor has arrived.
1. Exercise your “mack muscle”
“Your mack muscle is your mouthpiece. A lot of guys have a problem spittin’ proper game to women because they let their mouthpiece get rusty. Your mouthpiece is like any other muscle in your body—if you don’t exercise it, it will get weak. So the way to strengthen your game is to go out and socialize with as many people possible. Make it a point to speak to everyone from co-workers to people at the bus stop. Practice socializing so when you come across a fly female your mouthpiece will be ready.”
2. Take your game on the road
“A true player has to travel and experience different females from different cultures. This will really keep your game tight. Staying in the same hood, dealing with the same types of females year in and year out will really downgrade your game.”
3. Have zero tolerance for disrespect
“It’s in a woman’s nature to test a man. This has been going on since the beginning of time. The story of Adam and Eve is about woman testing a man and the repercussions of man not checking woman. When a woman tests a man and he doesn’t check her on it, the woman will start disrespecting him. As a player, you have to have zero tolerance for any form of disrespect. You have to establish early on in the relationship that you are not the one to be tested.”
4. Step your gear up
“These days, a lot of men are dressing extra casual. That’s cool to a certain extent, but if you want to be a true player, you should get suited up at least one day a week. You don’t have to throw on a tux, but you should put on some “choosin’ clothes” once a week and go out and conduct everyday business. You will notice the level of respect you will receive. You will also notice the quality of women that will step to you.”
5. Be a leader
“A true player is a boss. And a true boss is a man who is worthy of being followed. Always have integrity when you deal with females. Respect is always better than acceptance. Anyone can be accepted, but a true boss will be respected.”—As told to La’Juanda Knight

Déjà Vu All Over Again
Will Denzel’s The Taking of Pelham 123 remake live up to the classic 1974 original?
Having yet to see the original 1974 film, I can’t say that I’m at all up in arms over this remake, The Taking of Pelham 123, starring Denzel Washington and John Travolta, and directed by Washington’s frequent co-pilot Tony Scott (Crimson Tide, Deja Vu, and Man on Fire, as well as the non-Denzel flicks The Last Boy Scout, Domino, and Enemy of the State). The original is said to be greatness, so into my Netflix queue it goes, and I know that many who love the hell out of that one aren’t too pleased about this new take.
Since I’m totally objective on this one, I can’t say that I’m too mad at this trailer. Looks every bit like Tony Scott’s other films—full of quick camera cuts, flashing lights, kinetic action/violence, and the such. John Travolta seems horribly miscast to me, though; the days of me buying the fat-lady from Hairspray as a badass villain are long gone (remember Face/Off, by the way? That movie was great times). “My man” Denzel looks as reliable as ever, on the other hand, and it’s great to see my local Bergen County, New Jersey hero James Gandolfini doing it big still, post-Sopranos‘ final episode blackout. The general subway-suspense premise is tapping into my metropolitan sensibilities nicely, and the radio back-and-forth between Washington and Travolta sounds cool.
I’m in, it seems. This has tons of potential. Who knows? Maybe Travolta kills this one (”kill” meaning good, not “kill” meaning bad), or I watch the original and go gaga over it so much that I re-watch this trailer and become infuriated. Seems the original is much more restrained while still providing slick action in bulk, rather than the convulsive feel that this trailer (and Tony Scott’s involvement) promise.
The Taking of Pelham 123 (opening on June 12)
